Dances With Penguins
Paul Cayard sheds the racing bib and puts on some snow shoes as he chills out in Antarctica and will be providing some highlights along the way: Day 4 of our Antarctic adventure-Position 64S x 62W. Our general itinerary is to travel southwest to the Arctic Circle, 66.5S, through the Palmer Archipelago along the western coast line of the Antarctic Peninsula. Tis The Season To Light Up The Night
Yes, Virginia, there will be illuminated boats a plenty this year! Time to ply away from the hustle and bustle,
the frantic shopping and whatnot that can suck the joy out, and get a mug of good cheer and
enjoy some of the spirit of the season!

The Road Less Traveled: Playa el Coyote
A different type of adventure, As Ruben and Robbie join friends Tim and Ramie as they delve into setting up a 2nd homestead in Playa el Coyote in Baja California. They have arrived and begin a 6 month labor intensive working vacation... My primary role while traveling down Mexico-1 to our favorite place in the Baja is that of navigator. This may sound crazy, as there is really only one road down. I spend a lot of time scouting for vados (dips), ganados (cows), topes (bumps) and curvas ... -

Winter Sailing With Skip Novak
A unique adventure in August September 2014, led by Skip Novak and Stephen Venables, which sailed from Stanley FI to South Georgia on board Pelagic Australis to attempt the winter climbing of peaks in South Georgia. After being frustrated by weather in the Salvesen Range the team eventually summited the three Trident peaks before returning after nearly 4 weeks to the Falklands. This story brings a whole new meaning to the concept of "Frostbite" sailing! For more on this story ... -

Departing Mexico, headed for Washington State, USA
Tomorrow morning Tiger Beetle, along with rob (me) and Lindi (newly on board) will be rolling out of San Jose Del Cabo and Mexico in a short while, headed out onto the big blue highway aiming for points northwards. This is the 'big leg' of the summer, perhaps 3500 miles of sailing from the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico - up to the Strait of Juan de Fuca that separates Canada from the United States. First land fall is intended to be Friday Harbor US Customs dock, in the San Juan Islands.... -

Grumpy In The Delta
Rob Tyron and LaDonna Bubak officially left the real world at the end of 2013 and entered a new phase in life, "Eternal Cruising" as LaDonna put it. Ah, that's the life! No longer doing the heavy lifting at Latitude 38, the former editor recently tied the knot with her long time beau and off they went eastward back in time to the Delta. This morning's post on social media shows that sometimes, even the easy life aint that easy. She asks: "... -

Half Way To Mazatlan
Rob Macfarlane continues his travels south of the border, having enjoyed a couple pleasant solo weeks in the Gulf of California as far north as Isla Partida. Now having picked up crew in La Paz, Tiger Beetle now on a southern sojourn, making tracks for Mazatlan... It has been a mellow day, and it's proving to be a quiet night though a little bobbly as the prevailing wind, light from behind at 9-10 knots, is running up a low chop that is rolling on from behind as well and which causes the... -
