Drakes Bay Oyster Company Fights To Save Oyster Farm
https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...tment/GXsMsG3p There's a petition online if you care to voice your opinion. There are pros and cons, including allegations that the current owner violated some rules and regs, built some outbuilding without permits etc... If you google map the Point Reyes Area and look at the minute size of the operation, compared to the the size of the estero, then look at the footprint of the dairy f... -

Point Reyes Aboard Alsager
© Evan Stolz Our friend Erin Loscocco made a recent trip to Point Reyes aboard his friends the 42' steel hull SV Alsager captained by Evan Stolze and captured some wonderful imagery. With the Thanksgiving Holiday providing a window of opportunity to get away from it all, without dealing with long lines at airports, ski resorts or on the highway, why not invest some time on a pleasant cruise to one of the most pristine, off the beaten track anchorages on the West Coast? The current lon... -

Hanno's Great Escape to the Bay of Islands
Hanno has recently returned from an excellent adventure charter in the Bay Of Islands in the north east section of New Zealand's North Island, just a couple hours north of Auckland, in the semi sub-tropical section of NZ. Here's his fine condensed version of his voyage! I’ve never been wild about the idea of sailing in the tropics. Sure there are pretty sights and pleasing rich odors, but there’s also sun and heat and humidity, giving rise to sunburn and some unpleasant rich odors … if... -

Settling Down In El Salvador
Louis is an excellent fisherman, shown here with a 42" Bull Dorado. While his skill on angling are quite sharp, sometimes he forgets to put his trousers on.... Our intrepid cruising couple, Luis and Laura Kruk have bid a fine adios to Mexican waters and headed south aboard their Beneteau 42 "Cirque" after 3 seasons cruising in the Mexican Riviera during the Fall /Winter /Spring seasons. The next part of the journey will lead them to Central America, then through the Canal at a leisure... -

Now That's Got Some Bite To It!
Lake Macquarie in the New South Wales Region of Australia just played host to the Aussie A-Cat Nationals, and is Australia's largest saltwater lake. At 42.5 square miles, it is twice the size of Sydney Harbor. But don't let the "Lake" distinction fool you. Connected to the Tasman Sea via the Swansea Channel, large Apex predators can and do make trips inland. This Tiger Shark caught just off the Wangi Ramp for example might give you pause. by PhotoboyA different type of adventure, As Ruben and Robbie join friends Tim and Ramie as they delve into setting up a 2nd homestead in Playa el Coyote in Baja California. They have arrived and begin a 6 month labor intensive working vacation... My primary role while traveling down Mexico-1 to our favorite place in the Baja is that of navigator. This may sound crazy, as there is really only one road down. I spend a lot of time scouting for vados (dips), ganados (cows), topes (bumps) and curvas ...
