  • Storm Door's Open Wide!

The Northern California Area has enjoyed a long extended dryspell over the last couple months,
and fantastic weather for outdoor activities. We hope you enjoyed it, because it's all about to come to an
end in the the next 48 hours! We need the snow and rain so it's a good thing. Just remember to bring in the
hammock, clean the roof gutters break out the foulies again. Saturday's CYC Midwinters could be a damp one!

PREVIOUS EXTENDED...NOW TO THE MAIN EVENT...A DRASTIC CHANGE IN
THE WEATHER PATTERN. THE MUCH TALKED ABOUT PATTERN CHANGE WILL
COMMENCE ON WEDNESDAY AS THE STORM DOOR OPENS. FLOW BECOMES MORE
ZONAL STARTING WEDNESDAY AS THE FIRST IN A SERIES OF STORM SYSTEMS
TAKES AIM AT SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. THE LATEST MODEL GUIDANCE IS
IN PRETTY GOOD AGREEMENT IN BRINGING RAIN TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
TUESDAY NIGHT NIGHT AND THE NORTH BAY AS EARLY AS WEDNESDAY
MORNING. A GOOD SWATH OF HIGHER PRECIPITABLE WATER IS FORECAST TO
SLIDE SOUTH THROUGH THE DAY. AS A RESULT...EXPECT RAIN TO SPREAD
SOUTH THROUGH THE DAY AS WELL. GIVEN THE AMPLE AMOUNT OF
MOISTURE...PWATS IN EXCESS OF 1.15 INCHES...MODERATE TO HEAVY
RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE. THE FIRST STORM SYSTEM WILL LIKELY GENERATE
THE MOST RAINFALL NORTH OF THE CWA...BUT FOR OUR AREA THE NORTH
BAY WILL INITIALLY SEE THE HIGHEST RAINFALL THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

    LONG TERM(THURSDAY-SUNDAY)...
THE STORM DOOR REMAINS OPEN. THE WEDNESDAY SYSTEM WILL DROP
FARTHER SOUTH ON THURSDAY BRINGING RAIN...POSSIBLY MODERATE AT
TIMES...TO THE ENTIRE CWA BY DAYS END. RAINFALL TOTALS THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING ARE FORECAST TO BE 1-2 INCHES ACROSS THE N
BAY...0.25-1 INCH MONTEREY BAY TO SAN FRANCISCO AND LESS THAN 0.25
    INCHES SOUTH.

THERE COULD BE A BRIEF REPRIEVE LATE THURSDAY WITH MORE OF SHOWERY
REGIME AS THE FIRST SYSTEM SLIDES FARTHER SOUTHWARD. QUICK ON ITS
HEELS ANOTHER MOIST SYSTEM WILL MOVE TO THE COAST FRIDAY AND
SATURDAY. THERE ARE SOME INDICATIONS THAT THE SECOND SYSTEM
WILL TAP INTO EVEN MORE MOISTURE THAN THE FIRST WITH PWAT
APPROACHING 1.5 INCHES. THE BEING SAID...EXPECT MORE WIDESPREAD
RAINFALL...AGAIN POSSIBLE HEAVY AT TIMES...FOR MUCH OF THE CWA
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS WILL BE MORE IN THE 0.5-1
INCH RANGE WITH A FEW HIGH SPOTS OVER 2 INCHES.

TO ROUND OUT THE WEEKEND...A THIRD STORM SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO
MOVE THROUGH THE REGION BRING ANOTHER ROUND OF RAINFALL OT CWA.

ASIDE FROM THE ANTICIPATED RAINFALL...EACH PASSING SYSTEM WILL
LIKELY BRING BREEZY TO OCCASIONALLY GUSTY CONDITIONS TO THE REGION.

ALL THAT BEING SAID...AFTER A RATHER PROLONGED QUIET PERIOD OF
WEATHER THINGS ARE ABOUT TO BECOME ACTIVE. STAY TUNED FOR THE
LATEST FORECASTS REGARDING THE UPCOMING SERIES OF STORM SYSTEM.
