The collision between a center console boat and a sailboat happened roughly 1 mile southwest of Angel Island, according to the United States Coast Guard.

The driver of the center console boat was ejected from the vessel during the collision. Witnesses pulled the driver from the water and tried to save them, but the driver died at the scene in Tiburon, police said.

“You know, when I got home, stepped out of my balcony and, I saw a boat spinning out of control with a lot of other, fire boats and helicopters,” said Tiburon resident Jamal Modir.

Authorities said that one person was onboard the spinning boat while four people were on board a sail board.

“It was pretty alarming. I didn’t know what was going on. My neighbor showed me a text saying that someone had fallen off of his boat and hit by another vessel,” Modir said.

It's not clear at this time what led up to the collision. An investigation is underway.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said.

The struggle of the 505 Worlds is over, we had wind….

Yesterday was a lay day and the plan was to catch up some races, but again there was no wind so the locals pulled out their boats and we cruised the harbour to Cobh and Cork.

Today, inshore, there was no wind but once we got outside the harbour, the fleet was greeted with a 12-14kn from the N/E. We had wind and we were going sailing. It was a gradient breeze and expected to wane a little as

The last day of Cowes Week featured short, action-packed races in a solid north-westerly gradient wind, culminating in a spectacularly busy finish line at the Royal Yacht Squadron. A risk of the wind dying in advance of an afternoon sea breeze prompted a change to the race schedule, with three committee boats used, in addition to the Royal Yacht Squadron line, to compress
