Clarity Sought By Burling And Tuke
Peter Burling and Blair Tuke say they are waiting for "clarity" around the 37th America's Cup defence before re-signing with Team New Zealand. The Kiwi sailing duo, who have been competing in Europe for the New Zealand SailGP team following their 49er silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, are off contract with Team NZ in December. In a joint statement to the Herald, Burling and Tuke said they have been in "regular conversation" with Team NZ over their futures but have yet to put pen to ... -

Dalton Speaks: Seeking Threepeat
So today, 17 August 2021 – being five months since we won the 36th Americas Cup and just one month from the Venue Announcement of the 37th America’s Cup – I think it’s a good time for an update. I’ve heard it said that: ‘Emirates Team New Zealand would be better losing the 37th America’s Cup in New Zealand, than winning it offshore.’ Of course these are comments that come from outside the team and one expects from people with some sort of vested interest. I still find it astonis... -

Cup Finds Itself Homeless?
NZ Herald
By: Eduan Roos and Julia Gabel No final decision has been made about where the next America's Cup will be held - but it is highly unlikely that it will be in New Zealand. Team New Zealand CEO Grant Dalton on Tuesday night told more than 400 members of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) that it was extremely unlikely that an agreement with the Government to stage the next event on Kiwi waters would be reached, after more than three months of negotia... -

The Kiwi's Cup Runneth Over
Auckland, New Zealand – 17th March 2021 Both crews headed out to the Hauraki Gulf today looking to keep it simple, and stick to what they had trained for years to do. That was the plan – and then Emirates Team New Zealand lifted the intensity after the start of Race 10, to take their fifth race in a row and win the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada. Race 10 After a delay for the race committee to shift the marks and accommodate the 7-10 knots breeze out on... -

Kiwis Take Race 9, Now Just 1 Win Away
Auckland, New Zealand - 16th March 2021 Both teams headed out to course C onto the Hauraki Gulf today with the same game plan. Keeping it simple - and just focusing on the next race. In what has become a roller coaster of extreme emotions for everyone involved in this 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada, that may sound like a tough call - but for the Defender and Challenger, it is all about focusing on the next move, the next call, and then the next move after that. For the eleven... -

15th March 2021 36th AMERICA’S CUP PRESENTED BY PRADA DAY 5 Emirates Team New Zealand take a 5-3 lead Day 5 of the America’s Cup presented by PRADA was without a doubt the most heart stopping of the 36th America’s Cup. Day 2 : Deja Vu All Over Again
Auckland, New Zealand - 12th March 2021 After Wednesday’s opening salvo of the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada produced a 1-1 scoreline for defender Emirates Team New Zealand, and challenger Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, yesterday’s lay day saw both teams remaining ashore using their time wisely. A Split For Day One
It was impossible to exaggerate the importance and significance of the of the first race in any America’s Cup as the anticipation and build up that proceeds the first day is beyond anything else in sport. The day one of the 36th America’s Cup presented by PRADA didn’t disappoint with the Defender Emirates Team New Zealand and the Challenger Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sitting on a tie after two races. Pretty even performances between the two boats once again confirmed that there is not s... -

by PhotoboyAuckland, New Zealand - 20th February 2022 Some childhood dreams can become realities, others remain just that- dreams. For a 10-year-old boy growing up in Bendigo Australia, his childhood dream was to go faster than anyone else had done, powered by the wind. Speed has always been at the centre of Glenn Ashby’s existence, on yachts, motorbikes- or land yachts. The quest for speed has won him 3 America’s Cups, an Olympic Silver Medal and 17 World Championships in 4 different classes of boa...

by PhotoboyAC40's IN PRODUCTION Just over 11 months since Emirates Team New Zealand’s AC75 ‘Te Rehutai’ crossed the finish line to claim the 36th America’s Cup, its younger sister class- the AC40 is already in production. While much of the world was having a well-earned break during the transition from 2021 into 2022 the 7 axis CNC machine at McConaghy Boats production facility was working 24/7 carving out the tooling for the hull of the new class. The AC40 hull shape is based on that of T...
