The 52 SUPER SERIES fleet warmed up for Tuesday’s start of the 2022 season with three good practice races today on the beautiful r?a de Vigo off Baiona where the world’s leading grand prix monohull circuit is visiting for the very first time in its ten year history.
As if to underline how open this five-regatta season is likely to be, there were three different race winners, Harm M?ller Spreer’s Platoon, the Plattner family’s Phoenix with Tom Slingsby... -

Fast And Furious At Vice Admirals Cup
Fast, furious and exceptionally close racing at the RORC Vice Admiral’s Cup
A stunning opening day delivered three fast-paced and testing races for every class. After a short wait for the wind to fill in, it quickly built to a solid west-southwesterly of 12-14 knots.
The breeze then rose further, with gusts into the mid 20s, accompanied by plenty of excitement as downwind boat speeds topped 20 knots for some.
The smaller boats in the HP30... -

The Vendee Season Begins With The Vendee Artique
Alain Leboeuf, President of SAEM Vendee and of the Department of Vendee has just presented the very rich sports line-up of the 2nd edition of the Vendee Arctic – Les Sables d'Olonne, more than 2 years from the 10th edition of the Vendee Globe. The sporting and media successes of the 2020-2021 edition stimulated project leaders and their sponsors, so much so that the transition phase was particularly short. The Arctic Vend?e being the first of the five qualifying races*... -

United As One
Racing in light conditions can often be boring and frustrating but for the penultimate day of the first ever IMA Maxi European Championship it was anything but – for spectators at least - with significant shifts, occasional shut-downs on a coastal course on a WSW-ENE axis deep into the Bay of Naples to the north of the Sorrentine peninsula.
After a delay ashore and then on the water, the race for the 21 entries got underway just before 1500 CEST with a short upwind... -

After losing the first day with no wind, the event is back on schedule. But still the conditions defy the local... -

Lyra Making Waves At IMA Maxi Europeans
Scheduled for day two of the IMA Maxi Europeans’ inshore/coastal racing were two windward-leewards. After a delay out on the Bay of Naples, the wind finally built to 8-12 knots from the west. After one aborted start due to a wind shift and another for a general recall, racing for the 21 maxis eventually got underway at 1515 CEST.

Raza Mixta Declared 2022 Melges 2022 World Champions!
May 15, 2022 - Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA - After two full years of hiatus in the schedule of the World Championships, the International Melges 24 Class returned to assign a most coveted World Title: it was October 2019 when in Villasimius Luca Perego’s Maidollis was crowned World Champion for the second time, and, after that moment the pandemic blocked everything, preventing the dispute of the 2020 and 2021 World Championship and the 2020 European Championship.

Maserati Claims Line Honors At 67th Regata dei Tre Golfi
The start of the 67th Tre Golfi Regatta was as picturesque as ever, thanks to the event's second ever sunset departure in place of the traditional midnight kick-off.
The Gulf of Naples, with Capri and Vesuvius illuminated by the warm light of the setting sun, provided a stunning backdrop.
A fleet of 130 boats that took to the starting line were clearly visible even from the streets of Santa Lucia, leaving passers-by amazed by the...Last edited by Photoboy; 05-15-2022, 03:24 PM. -

The Longest Day Turns Late Into The Night
It was 8am, and the PRO (Principal Race Officer) John Williams was starting the daily Skipper’s meeting. The general feeling in the air was one of mild "dis-jointedness”… just a little “off”. The reason was likely due to the fact that the start of the leg this day had been moved up to 9am - an hour earlier than usual. And, that the teams were facing the longest leg of the event: Jacksonville Beach, FL to Tybee Island, GA - Roughly 128 miles...
