    Powered Up In Portugal

Cascais, Portugal, August 22, 2022. On the second day of the Snipe World Championship, the wind was light leaving the harbor, but began to build steadily with big shifts, causing the Race Committee to move the course 3 times to find suitable conditions for racing.

After almost 2 hours, the wind was finally steady, with intensity between 15 and 20+ knots, allowing to finally start racing. In the only race of the day

Jangada Doublehands To 2022 Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race Overall Title

Thrilling Climax for Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race

The Sevenstar Round Britain & Ireland Race came to a thrilling climax on the 16th day of the 1,805 nautical mile race. In a 14-hour flurry, 10 boats finished the race and a passionate dock party on Trinity Landing was followed by a hearty meal at the RORC Clubhouse in Cowes. Five boats are still racing but none of them can realistically better the IRC corrected time scored by JPK 1010 Jangada. The Royal Ocean Racing

    Mattapoisett Boatyard Catches Fire

MATTAPOISETT, Mass. (AP) — A huge fire at a Massachusetts marina turned several boats, buildings and vehicles into burned-out shells Friday, producing a plume of black smoke so thick it was picked up by weather radar.

Aerial video taken by WCVB-TV showed much of the boatyard in Mattapoisett engulfed in flames, with the fire apparently limited to buildings and boats on land. A firefighting vessel could be seen pulled up to the dock, getting as close as possible

Safety over Ambition. Norbert Sedlacek Koch made a U-turn.

The second night at sea was already quite intense. Skipper Norbert Sedlacek Koch had to tack against 40 knots of wind through a rocky sea.

Today, at 2:05 PM, he informed his shore crew that the IY Open60AAL has hit an unidentified floating object and the rudder fixation had broken. Sadly, as the rudders are essential to steer a boat in the right direction, he had to turn around once again. It

Maserati Endures Hard Landing While On The Hard

"A violent storm hit the area of our construction site this morning, near Marina di Carrara, causing huge damage. The wind lifted #MaseratiMulti70 taking it out of the invasion and threw it to the ground from meters away. We are still checking the extent of the damage suffered, tomorrow with a crane we will put the boat back on the saddles and we will start ultrasound analyses to find the points that have suffered injuries."

Aspire returns to 5.5 Metre circuit to dominate opening day of Swiss Open

The 5.5 Metre class is famous for going to nice venues, but no one was really prepared for how nice the first day of the 2022 Swiss Open turned out. Aspire (POL 17, Mateusz Kusznierewicz, Przemysław Gacek, Edward Wright) took three race wins to lead overnight with Caracole (SUI 214, Bernard Haissly, Nicolas Berthoud, Daniel Stampfli) winning the third race to sit in second on equal points

    A disaster narrowly averted:
Merlin was sailing well on the 1st day of the Rolex Big Boat Series last Thursday when a nasty halyard wrap forced them to retire towards the end of the 1st race. The crew assessed the problem and the boat made arrangements with KKMI in Richmond to get the carbon headstay replaced in short order. While she missed the 1st start on Friday, the boat and crew were back out and racing for race 4.
