i thought of going over the side to get a better shot like PB but decided not knowing how to swim might nOT be worth it, besides the negs would get wet too, thus further ruining my day thanks

started a topic GOT MY SHOT but.....

    GOT MY SHOT but.....

..... oracle's AC72 passed under the bridge twice and i decided to move in the case they did it again. scootered over to the viewpoint. park and lock up scooter. run to the bridge walkway and start moving quite quickly to the center. as i am on the bridge i can see them out perhaps at crissy field and turning around toward the bridge. they start sailing toward the bridge. their bow is toward the north tower so i move faster. light foot traffic on bridge so i am happy i don't have to run through crowds. now they are closer and start to angle off toward the south tower. still too far for me. as i near the center they start coming around fast and pass right under but in front of me..... they come skimming out after turning and looks like i'll finally get my shot. i see what looks like a piece of driftwood floating in their wake. then they start to limp to a stop - with ALL sails open and full of air. they stay like that for quite some time then at about 2-ish, they start to move eastward. to me it looks like a tow since there's a chase boat directly in front. sigh

i hope i am wrong in thinking something's seemingly broke.

i have cropped a portion of the pix where it first appears which i didn't see at first. then the piece as it's floating alone in the water. hopefully it isn't as it seems to me, or anything else serious, and she'll be back in the water many more times before i depart. still no travis flights to where i need to go.
