Race 12
The electricity at Pier 27 was palatable and a sea of ETNZ fans arrived and took their positions early, and when their team made their way to the stage you felt like something monumental was about to happen.
It's not a real long presence on stage, a basic intro and a few softball questions lobbed
certain members
The EMTZ stewardess, may have been with Dean, but she's checking YOU out!
The US supporters came late and were fewer in numbers, except kids playing hookey from school
The media center is 3 to 4 times busier than during the Louis Vuitton
On the water, high teens to low 20 knot breeze with a building ebb made for near perfect conditions for race 12.
Oracle Racing, back against the wall performed near flawlessly in the race, picking the wind shifts to their benefit with a certain panache. They had to. If not it was over.
Ainslie converses with the analysts, afterwards as the set the program for the 2nd race
The wind increased over the threshold and sat their for 25 minutes. ETNZ changes headsail for bigger breeze, and as it happens with chance, it looked good for a start as wind backed off slowly, and it did look promising for a 2nd start. But alas just as the RC was within 3 minute of firing the gun, it built momentarily to just a knotch above the combined 23 knot wind/ebb limit and racing was called off....again
Mr Ellison was seen out in his protector. Quite joyful after his team won race 12.
That's it for today...
