  • Blokart activity in Florida?

I am at the crossroads in my acquisition of wind powered things where I need to decide whether to buy the biggest Revolution Power Blast kite (already have the 2-4) which will only be good as a buggy engine, or to bite the (rather large, IMO) financial bullet for a Blokart.
At issue are the available venues for use, and also if there are any other Blokart sailors within reasonable driving distance for group sailing.
I live in Mims, Florida, just north of Titusville, on the east coast of central Florida near Kennedy Space Center ( my day job).
    So,..... Anybody out there?

    NO Blokarting in Florida

After 49 views and not a single reply, I am left to conclude that the Blokart is not the best choice for me, given my location.
I would have thought that even if one of those 49 people who read my post didn't have the info I sought, surely one of them could have at least offered a referral.
So, it must be that either the Blokart is just not a Florida thing, or the folks who have them down here are not interested in adding me to their ranks.
So, this Saturday I will be buying my big buggy engine kite.
    Sorry this didn't work out.

      Bob,

I think there's a third possibility: not many people actually look at this forum...

You might try contacting the North American association's president directly and see if he knows anyone down in your neighborhood:

        Will do, Geoff!
I already bought a kite buggy, but I got it cheap enough so I can still swing the Blokart if I choose to go that route.

I sent Bob a email concering blokart sailing in Fl.

          Bob,
There are 3 dealers in FL , but I hear very little from them. One is a member of NABSA, Dennis Graham . I suggest you try contacting him. If you go to blokart.usa You can see where the FL dealers are.
I have a local group of up here of about 15 blokart sailors. We have a few good beaches we can sail on in the off season.
Its too bad you can not get to the Ivanpah event or a upcoming event in Wildwood NJ. I always have extra blokarts with me for people to try.
More than 1 person has gone to Ivanpah without a blokart and got hooked and bought a blokart. Ivanpah 2011 YTube
Please let me know how you make out, I would like to meet you sailing a blokart at a event. Blokart sailors are a great bunch of people.
