Free folkboat

Hi,



I am employed as Harbor Administrator at the Richardson’s Bay Regional Agency. Regrettably, part of my duties involve disposing of unwanted boats. I have been given a Folkboat and would love to pass it along to one of your members.

The boat is named “Folly” I believe, and she is in fairly rough shape. Spars are there, but no sails. She came out of a SF Marina lien sale, and it looks as if she was stripped a bit while there, since her outboard rack has been removed for example.

Let me know if you have any prospects. I am copying your board with this email. If you have any miracle takers please let me know. The boat is currently berthed in Sausalito, and will be gone by the end of the month unless I can find her a decent home.

USA-16 Folly– Folly is a historic Folkboat of the San Francisco Bay Fleet. Folly has won the Season Championship four times (1971-1973 and 1975) and the Wednesday Evening Series six times (1971 to 1976). She also won the Contender’s Cup several times more recently, and most recently in 1998. Keel bolts were replaced in 2005 at Svendsen’s. Overall a solid boat, with a full boat cover.
