  • Introducing Salona Yachts

Situated not far from the ancient Roman Stronghold of Salona, Croatia the boat building phenom, Salona Yachts, incorporates in its name the strength, durability and lasting history of a town originally formed in the first millennium BCE. One part of the multinational company AD Plastik and the Prevent Group, Salona Yachts built their business model upon a strong history of development and integrity with the launch of their Salona 45 and subsequent launchings of their 40 and 37 foot models.

By 2008 the company expanded into the Maestral line of inflatable boats, introduced the Salona 42 and 34 foot models and today boasts the arrival of the stunningly modern Salona 60 along with the sleek and attractive Salona 33 while at the same time building the popular and competitive Sydney 43.
The Salona Yachts Manufacturing philosophy involves a process that is meticulously developed and controlled by their Research and Development department. From the tooling of the molds and throughout the entire build process this team focuses their energies on insuring the quality of the layup and the overall quality of the build process is up to the high standards the company requires for a product that will wear the name, Salona Yachts.

Designed and constructed with a fully integrated stainless steel grid system the Salona Yacht is structurally bullet proof. We’re not talking about a small grid around the keel but one that extends the length of the salon incorporating not only the loads of the keel and keel stepped mast but integrates the loads of the shrouds through the stainless steel arms extending up each side of the boat. This extensive stainless steel grid system is integral in creating the stiff and structurally solid boat that Salona Yachts delivers throughout the world.

Combing the load spreading qualities of the stainless steel grid system, the manual layup process and strategic placement of carbon reinforcement with the vacuum infused resin process and watertight fore and aft bulkheads Salona Yachts creates a vessel destined to be rated as a class A offshore sailboat. Then Salona Yachts takes the build process one step further! The underbody is built with a clear gelcoat as the outer layer. Once out of the mold the entire underbody can be inspected for any voids in the build process and potentially fixed before barrier coats and bottom paint is applied. Salona Yachts is taking the philosophy of building a structurally sound vessel to an entirely new level in modern boat building history.

For the discerning sailor that wants to take this amazing build process one step further in order to optimize their new boat for speed and the inevitable need to win on the race course Salon Yachts offers the IBC upgrade.
    • I for Infusion – Salona will use vacuum infusion blending different glass structures and resin quality to give you just the right combination of lightness and strength to enhance the performance of the boat
    • B for Basalt – Salona will incorporate this super light and strong bulkhead material to giving you increased tortional rigidity to the internal structure of the boat. The lighter and stiffer the boat is the faster she’ll go around the course!
    • C for Carbon – Salona will use carbon fiber to build your rudder foil, mast, boom and spinnaker pole to ensure lightness and strength. This high tech combination will go far towards podium results on the race course.

    The Line-Up

    The Salona 33
    Base price of $118,000*

The result of bringing together our extensive internal design and engineering resources with external designers, Olympic and professional sailors, interior designers, and our excellent suppliers. Most importantly this new design incorporates many features recommended by Salona’s cruising and racing customers. The entire team came together and agreed on one simple goal - to design and build a globally competitive fast sailing yacht that can win any regatta, and at the same time provide uncompromised comfort and safety while cruising.

The spacious cockpit is free of obstacles, comfortable for cruising and has a practical layout that is optimized for the performance oriented racer. Offered standard with a Tiller, a two wheel option is available making the S33 one of the smallest two wheel performance cruisers on the market. The inviting interior is filled with daylight from the traditional portlights, hull windows and hatches. Her standard interior is a 2 cabin layout including a spacious head, large navigation table and functional galley.

    The Salona 35
    Base price of $141,400*

The result of our experience gained throughout the creation and daily us of all our models, from 33 to 60 ft. Her modern and clean decklines continue the new distinctive style of Salona Yachts. Her Spacious cockpit is free of obstacles with an easily convertible open and closed transom and extensive use of carbon details. The Salona 35 comes standard with two steering wheels with optional carbon pedestals and top quality sailing gear making racing, cruising and single handed sailing a fluid experience.
America’s Cup designer, Jason Ker, has designed and optimized the Salona 35 performance keel with a lower center of gravity. Ker significantly improved the ballast to weight ratio and the hydrodynamics of the keel with the use of the latest computational fluid dynamics programs. Optimized for maximum performance the keel and sail plan allow for a ease of handling not found on many 35 foot sailboats.

Focused on daylight coming through the hull windows, portlights and hatches featuring the numerous smart design details the salon is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the comfort of your yacht. The standard 2 cabin layout includes a spacious head, large navigation table, functional galley and optional fold away bunks on each side of the salon.

    The Salona 38
    Base price of $183,400*

The result of the combined innovation, the use of the latest technologies and high tech materials, as well as, our experience gained throughout our line of boats the Salona 38 takes sailing to a new level. Every Salona is the result of teamwork in the design and construction process but with the Salona 38 we brought in Jason Ker to optimize the keel, interior designers and cruising customers to optimize the interior layout and then asked Emirates Team New Zealand Americas Cup Skipper Dean Barker to test our prototype and give us any and all feedback for optimization of the boat. In the end we have an unbeatable performer in the Salona 38

She offers a comfortable interior that can trick you into believing you are on a much larger yacht. The 38 has a 2 and 3 cabin layout with spacious heads, large navigation table, functional galley and fold away bunks along each side of the salon. Incorporating Salona’s focus on bright daylight infused interiors the smart design details and comfortable relaxed environment create the perfect place to relax and enjoy a very advanced Salona Yacht.

    The Salona 41
    Base price of $222,600*

This vessel combines all the latest innovations implemented by our company in recent years, giving us a clear lead on our competition. Her sleek deck lines follow her older sisters, the Salona 44, giving a spacious and obstacle free cockpit with an easily convertible closed to open transom.

The two steering wheels are a trade mark of this comfortable boat with absolutely no compromise on sailing equipment. An easily adjustable genoa and mainsheet system helps in trimming sails and gives you the ability to furl the genoa without sending the crew forward to adjust the leech, this, together with a single line reefing mainsail gives total "all from the cockpit" security and sailing potential. The beautifully arranged Harken under deck furler lets you take full advantage of the wind and with her narrow lines and low displacement the S41 allows you to fully use the 140% genoa in as little as 5 kts of wind instead of resorting to motoring.

Construction is one of strong points of the Salona yard. The big stainless steel frame takes loads from the keel and shrouds and spreads them securely to a wide area of the hull. The slamming zone forward is single skin to avoid shear failure of core material under heavy loads and the area is additionally reinforced with layers of triax E-glass fabric. The deck is sandwich construction built with a structural design incorporating a ceiling inner liner to better withstand high longitudinal and transverse loads. The construction is stiff, strong and light producing a very seaworthy boat which will withstand high loads from rig, wind and sea conditions.

Last but not least the Salona 41 is another fast performance cruiser built in Split, Croatia as a result of team work, designed together by J J and Salona Development team and optimized by Mauricio Cosutti within the IRC and ORC rules.

    The Salona 44
    Base price of $278,600*

Performance seems to be one of the most distinctive and recognizable features of the Salona range and like always, special attention has been paid to light and strong construction accompanied by the most advanced technology. Yet her modern interior layout shows priorities have also been directed to the idea of making her a comfortable and liveable boat. Both the exterior and interior offer functional and elegant space for pleasant family cruising and an exciting racing experience.

As with her predecessors, the Salona 44 has kept her elegant open Mediterranean style combined with safety to create a vessel that is at home on the protected inshore waters of your local bay as well as the North Sea and beyond.

The Salona 44 offers a more generous sail plan than her predecessor the Salona 45, but not at the expense of ease of sailing or sure footedness. With its design ingenuity, the increased sail area is expertly complemented by the latest design thinking in her underwater lines. This improvement together with her efficient and well balanced keel, ballast and rudder arrangements will make the sailing on the new Salona 44 pleasant under any conditions.

The Salona 44 will prove to be not only a safe and luxurious cruiser but also an exciting, competitive yacht. The Salona 44 offers a new level of refinement and sophistication which is accompanied with the ability to cruise in a relaxed, yet confident manner or to perform to the highest levels on the race course.
