Peter Harburg’s 100 foot Reichel Pugh supermaxi Black Jack left McConaghy Boat’s shed in Gosford early this morning, showing her modified hull and new features. It was a millimetre perfect de-shed with very tight tolerances and in windy conditions. A credit to Reichel-Pugh, Brett Ellis, McConaghy Boats, Sydney Composites, the Black Jack Team and all others involved.

The supermaxi Black Jack 100 started life as Alfa Romeo in 2005 before going on to take line honours for owner Neville Crichton in the 2009 Sydney to Hobart.
In 2017 Australian, Peter Harburg has purchased the Esimit Europa to bring her home as his new Black Jack. Reichel/Pugh welcomes Peter back into the family, having owned the 66’ pocket maxi Black Jack who took 3rd overall in the 2012 Sydney Hobart race.
Black Jack RP100 features the latest in revolutionary sailing technology such as canting keel, movable water ballast, lightweight high modulus carbon fibre everywhere and even a tungsten bulb.
This 100-footer was build more than a decade ago and yet boasts amazing design and has been well maintained, upgrading certain components when necessary. This yacht remains amongst the fastest ocean racer in the world today.
