  • Hydraplaneur, what happened to it?

Hydraplaneur, Yves Parlier's 60 foot cat. Any body know what happened to it/ or where it is?

    Suggest it still floats.

    It looks like corporate sponsorship
is function of sailing time, mitigated by
sailors' commitments to big races, etc.

Thanks for making that clear Snaggy.

I am often surprised by how some folks get to sail really cool boats and get somewhat paid to do it. Too bad the US is so far behind in allowing this to succeed.

            Capsized in April 2005. http://www.sailing.org/11641.php
Recovered, but I don't think anything has been heard since. Too bust to fix? http://www.sailing.org/news/11691.php

That expalins why we haven't heard about it, were they racing when they flipped or was it a delivery?

              Edit

Had no idea that the newone flipped too.

On Sunday, the team had to empty the water out of the catamaran with buckets as the pump could not be offloaded by the tug boat, because of the sea conditions. ... wouch! does not sound like fun at all.

Skipper, Yves PARLIER (FRA) suffered three broken vertebras and a broken rib. He leaves for Las Palmas tomorrow to support his team and make a first inventory of the damages. ....what is this guy Iron Man?
