  • SL 33 Goes into Commercial Production

SL33 foiling catamaran now available as a production boat

The SL33 catamaran which ETNZ and Luna Rosa used in the development of the foils for their AC72s, has now gone into production. Along with Dave Ridley, CEO of Hall Spars, and Mike Sanderson of Doyle Sails, Andreas Labek has progressed the concept. The three men have each had an SL33s sailing on Auckland Harbour for the past six months.

Labek says the SL33 class will be a strict one-design, to guarantee equal performance, unlike the A Class, which encourages development.

"We are convinced, that we could set up a race circuit with this future-orientated design soon. The technology of the SL 33 one design is corresponding with the new AC catamarans and we are sure, that many sailors will have great interest in sailing the SL 33 one design,” said Labek.
