Alain Thébault's 60' experimental foiler had fallen on some sad times of late. Moored at the Kewalo Basin since here less than spectacular Transpac Record Attempt Clicky , the boat was apparently abandoned in Hawaii since. With no sponsor to pic up the tab on additional attempts and no payments made to the harbor itself and was about to be cut up for parts and sold off, and then just yesterday, a tweet from the l'Hydroptere twitter account declares that the boat has been sold and will be in San Francisco soon.

Hard to speculate who the buyer might be, but one candidate stands out like a sore thumb.

We will make an effort to confirm our suspicion....
