The New Beau

The former Phaedo3 which Lloyd Thornburg campaigned for several years, obliterating records along the way
is now sporting a new look as she gets ready to start a new life as Beau Geste. New owner Karl Kwok purchased
her earlier this summer, with a special goal: "We ( Team Beau Geste) held the record from Hong Kong to Manila record
since 2000, and an Australian boat took it away from us last year. And I want it back!"




This will be an entirely new experience for Team Beau Geste, as they have primarily sailed Kwoks 52's and 80' mini maxi,
but have done so in stupendous fashion, setting records and winning regattas along the way. For the record, the 52' Beau Geste
is for sale, and if not sold before, will compete in the 52' Worlds next summer in Cascais, Portugal.




Team Beau Geste Mod 70' is in Auckland preparing for the PIC Coastal Classic, (which provided these images)
gearing up for their 1st test, a long distance sprint from Auckland To Russel; in the Bay of Island in New Zealand!
