Perini's sailing yacht "Malizia" is shipwrecked in Stromboli: it was the boat of Prince Rainier of Monaco
Perini's glorious sailing ship Malizia sank in Stromboli, ending up on a cliff. It would be a maneuver to beach it, after a fault with the controls. There are no injuries

Perini's glorious sailing ship “ Malizia ” , former sailboat of Prince Rainier of Monaco , was shipwrecked in Stromboli . This splendid sailing yacht, 25 meters long , was chartered in Trapani for a cruise in the Aeolian Islands. There were 5 guests on board, as well as 3 crewmen.

According to an initial reconstruction, while the boat was off Stromboli, there was a failure to the controls or in any case a failure that would have compromised navigation. The commander would have tried to beach the ship, taking advantage of the favorable sea conditions, to avoid its loss. Thus the hull ended up against a cliff south of the small port of Scari.

Fortunately, all occupants remained unharmed . In fact, the crew evacuated the 5 tourists with the lifeboat, transporting them to the port of Scari, while only the captain and a sailor remained on board. Meanwhile, the charter company has already planned the recovery of the ship, the damage of which should be contained. Rescue operations were coordinated by the Lipari Coast Guard Circomare.

This 25-meter sail / yacht, built in 1989 by Perini Navi, was originally built for Prince Rainier III of Monaco, who named it Malizia, in homage to the family tradition. The boat was in fact moored for many years in Cap d'Ail, where it was used as his personal flagship.
