Solved the end of race dilemna. Big thanks to Paul and the Car for a ride back to the Harbor. Painful slow day, but a good time. Flash got a new tactician. Yahya flew in from Oman or Dubai or something like that to show us the way. After two weekends of losing to Car, we got healthy (lucky?). I'm still trying to figure out his explanation of how to read the rotation of logs in Colvos.

Ok... now my rant.
Why the hell do we do the islands race? It has got to be the most boring race of the year. Why don't we sail south through the bridge like the old days? If I can see Seattle it is not South Sound! Isn't this called the South Sound Series. If current is the problem then switch up the weekends of the four. Seems like there is no reason that we would have to start the series with Winter Vashon? Seems like change might be a good thing....

I've never done this race - but I have noticed that often racers don't show up only for perfect sailing conditions. Often, holes, current and reachy courses can bring out a huge fleet....A little disorganization goes a long way toward fun sailing.Comment
