Race #1 in the West Sound Sailing Associations 2013 series and new this year is Online Entry and the Cruising Class, incorporating the Non-Flying Sails boats. Club and Cruising Class rating request forms are online at portmadisonyc.org. Only those boats with official PHRF NW ratings will be scored in the overall WSSA Series but everyone is welcome to race the Jim Depue and will be scored in the race.
The Cruising Class will incorporate flying and non-flying sails and attempts will be made to rate your boat in as close to "actual sailed" condition as we can. Non-flying sails boats will be given more than the standard 18 seconds per mile (that never was enough) and boats wishing to fly a spinnaker but not strip out your boat and pull the dodger/enclosure off are encouraged to enter the cruising class and fill out the Cruising Class rating request form.
If you want to be serious about your racing, join in on the PHRF racing division, you'll have more great competition than you've seen in a long time!
