IYC is the OA for DHLS not YRA-OYRA. SI's by OA are the ruling doc.

I noticed the first version of the preliminary results was uploaded about five minutes after the last boat finished.

Maybe there IS something to all this 'lectronic wire stuff. I like my abacus and slide rule but maybe it's time to look into this two-cans-and-a-string thing.

and an even bigger benefit if you update during the race (GGYC has wifi), the cg knows the status of the racers. DNS, DNF etc. They interrogate realtime during the race and update through VTS announcements. Also reduces phone calls to Race deck from VTS and improves accuracy.

In the long view I don't agree that's a benefit. Having results quickly is nice for the skippers though.

Well the OA can always turn off CG access. Curious why you don't think its a benefit to reduce call frequency and duration to the RC and to improve accuracy of status?

Bob, I sailed the course, there were no more than 15 boats involved. They finished in a nice line. One person could have finished the race from the race deck and submitted the results. Just saying that 14 boats versus +300 is a different animal.

Imagine....double handing....18 kts.... A Cat you never saw comes from SF Marina (your 5:00 position) and the "gentlemen" in their rib cuts you off and adds a scowl to emphasize that in a port-starboard a boat that appeared from no where has the right of way. Makes one wonder why they practice on the weekend. I want to see their Team pull that move in front of Spithill
and watch him go over the top of them! Hope Jimmy adds a scowl - it will make for great TV!

I'm with Bob on this one. Think it through.

Sorry that a family commit kept me home this year.

Speaking of Bob, here is Ray Lotto and Steve Carroll playing the north side about as close as you can play it!

Congrats to Simon Winer and Andrew Hamilton on Bar-ba-loot which corrected out 1st!

                              (still editing, you can tell)
