Running of The Boats: The 6th Annual Double Damned

The Sixth Annual Double Damned race from Cascade Locks to The Dalles, Oregon is coming up on August 10th.

Last year’s race saw light to moderate winds across the course, an unusual setup that gave racers a chance to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Columbia River Gorge. Will returning racers be lulled into complacency by last year’s conditions, or will they come with adrenal glands primed? Odds are it is going to blow memories into the deepest recesses of their brains, surreal clips that come out in a flash of whitewater or wake them like a dream of falling. Veterans know that in the Gorge you have to be ready for anything. The uninitiated can only imagine, run scenarios, calm the butterflies and get registered.

Early registration ends Friday the 26th. Get on it this week while the cost is just $60 which includes a tee shirt, shuttle ride, and a Friday night BBQ dinner for you, your crew and family spectacularly hosted by title sponsor RBS Battens.

Watch out for CYC Edmonds' Gay Morris on his new-to-him Shark Fayaway!

You might be surprised how well that boat does in a breeze.

It's like the Ditch, just windier with stronger puffs if it's a Nuclear smoke on the water day.
