  • An Aerial Tour

By now, unless you were REALLY not paying attention, you are aware the ETNZ and Oracle Racing split todays racing 1-1, giving ETNZ a 3-0 lead and only needing 6 more wins to take the Auld Mug back to New Zealand... (OR is still minus1)

    See Article

Or you can watch the races HERE

Most of the time, an aerial view is a preferred route, it's dryer, less crowded and offers a unique perspective. In today's case, there were major obstacles. 1st the Giants had a home game, meaning anywhere with a 3 mile radius of the ball park was off limits...There goes the bottom 1/2 of the course. Then add some pea soup fog which arrive a couple days ahead of schedule and you get most of the to half eliminated. We did get a few glimpses, but they were fleeting. Time to improvise! A HUGE thanks to pilot Kieth and H.H. for all they do!

Even the TV guys had a rough go of it, and though they recieve special permission to
fly low and hove under the fog, and enter the no fly zone, it become a challenge!

The new Bay Bridge. Make the old erector set next to it look whoa-fully inadequate!

The Marina Green, this is also launching place for most of the AC Open vessels. Seen here most of the International 18's seeking refuge after Saturdays eye opener.

The NPS allowed a slew of folks on the pier for the Fleet Week events.

But it charged for the privilege.

Dude, i've got a hell logistical question. They aren't known for being economical. Do you land between races? Where?

There's about a 2.25 and 2.50 hour flight window fuel wise on the R-44...The Schweitzers I have flown have been more in the 3.5 hour range.
The Airstar's that Corporate Helo are using can fly longer, I think. All depends on payloads and fuel capacity.
