This delightful gallery of eye candy comes courtesy of Chris Smith via the Arizona Yacht Club from thier Lake Pleasant Regatta Fall Series. Lake Pleasant, some 30 miles due north of Phoenix and is used as a major water sports recreation center for the Phoenix metro area, as well as serving as an important storage reservoir for the rapidly growing region. the original lake was 3,700 acres but with the rapid growth in the Phoenix/ Northern Arizona areas, a larger damn was completed in 1994, tripling the capacity, however a drought kept the lake far from capacity, which was not filled till 2005.
The sailing condition on Lake Pleasant? Chris notes "Summer is usually light but the fall-winter-spring wind has been great since 2012. Here's a link to a video from March 2012. Only two sport boats showed up. A Melges 24 and my J/80. We match raced 3 races. A total blast."
