  • SF Sportboat Championship, Oct 19

Fellow sportboat owners and crews. The YRA is doing what it can to provide a venue for sportboats and stimulate participation, particularly as we look for next year's season.

For that, they are providing a Sportboat Championship Regatta as part of their Champion of Champions series.

    NOR

There will be multiple sportboat division and starts to group similar boats into competitive fleets. Please sign up and lets build some momentum for next year.

Thanks Dan. The YRA would really like to see the sport boat fleets grow and we're hoping the Fall Sport Boat Championship can be a starting point for the growth of the fleets.

It's to bad it's now a conflict with the SSS change to the Vallejo 1-2 weekend. Bummer to have to choose.

Right, changing major races in the calendar last minute tends to fack things.

You say that like we had any choice in the matter. The Vallejo 1-2 kinda needs to finish in Vallejo, and the city marina is shoaled in.

Besides, the sportboat regatta wasn't published anywhere until recently. Can we get over this and move on?

I just stated some facts, didn't try to ruffle any feathers. Its what it is.

There's also an Esse 850 signed up. The Esse 850 is 28 ft in length.

Fabio, unfortunately I wont be able to make it Saturday. Have daddy duties. As much as I tried to make this happen it doesn't look great for this year. We all need to try to make it better next year. There are two new to the Bay Melges 30s that can join the fray for a Super 30 type class:

                      1 x JS
                      1 x J90
                      1 x Azzure310
                      2 x Melges30
                      1 x Melges32
                      2 x Mumms30(if they go Asymmetric)
                      2 x FT30
                      1 x Henderson30

Starting with this group we would have a very competitive fleet, we can expand down to the 27 footers and it gets even more interesting.

oh well, I guess I'll jump to the oktoberfest regatta then, trying to catch those 252 rating that starts half a day in advance, while trying to keep the Bodacious behind...

There are beers, wieners and sauerkrauts for those who makes it to Berkeley, so in my book it's a win anyway... :-)

Looks like the super 30s up in PNW are having fun, so I hope next season it'll work out here too!

Don, can you please post the class division here when it's final? So we can plan accordingly...

                          Thanks,
                          Fabio

Will do. Although it sounds like Dan can't make it which leaves only 4 boats for the sport boat fleet(s).
