    Multis

We have a YRA board meeting in November. If you'd like the topic of supporting multis to be placed on the agenda on the agenda, just ask and we'll be happy to do it. The YRA is doing whatever it can to provide opportunities to race. That's why the focus on unserved, or under served communities like the small sporties. Don, Dan, and Steve Cameron (Brad is his brother btw) are trying to gain traction, but it's an uphill battle without the support of the various owners/fleets.

That's the point I've been trying to make for three years. We're trying to open the door, but someone needs to walk through it.

    Cheers,

    Nick

Sounds like a food basket on Chopped. I completely understand what you're saying Bob. I really wish that we had a fleet of boats for Daniel...you know, the FT10s, our resident Hendo, the M32s, A27s, U24s, and his JS9k. Fastboats sailing similar angles would be a hell of a lot of fun IMHO. How do we get them hooked up?

Are you feeling left out? Didn't mean to keep you out of the list. You can join us. I think all we are requiring is a sprit and asymmetricals. I think there might be a displacement range as well. But in either case come add to the fleet, I sure Jboats called the 92 a sportboat

If it was only for the pickle dishes you would see more sportboats showing up. Its an organization issue which has proven difficult to sort out.

Two years ago I was the guy pimping sportboats to the YRA and my YC, trying like hell to get the sportboat owners organized so we could get you guys your own starts. I received one response...from you. Do you know how many entries we received to our invite to the JF Series? Zero. We offered free storage, camping on the lawn, you name it. No one showed. Now Don has picked up the gauntlet because he...hell we all feel that there is a community that needs to be served. Now I ask you, in my trolling fashion, why it is that the biggest advocates for sportboats own lead mines? Granted, Don has a fast lead mine, but neither of us own sportboats. We're just the latest guys who have tried to organize a herd of largely invisible and very quiet cats. Why is that? Where is the guy that sells the sportboats in SF? Where are the owners? You make the point about a schedule conflict with the V 1-2. Fine, that wraps up you and Nelson. The last I checked, SSS wasn't synonymous with sportboats. So where are they? Look at the Great Pumpkin entry list for me. Where are the Vipers and 5.7s? You guys should have your own starts, but as far as I'm concerned, if these two attempts are less than stellar in terms of sportboat participation, I'd be in favor of the Sportboats establishing their own charter organization, then going to the YRA and/or organizing YCs to negotiate their starts. At some point in time, you guys need to take ownership of this, because it just IS NOT RIGHT that we have to do the work, then have you guys bitch about schedule conflicts. If you don't like it, stand up and lead the effort. We'd all be happy to support you.
And I'm still trying, and Don is helping (a lot), and its frustrating as shit. There is nothing that I would like more than to have 7 sportboats on the line. In the absence of that I'll go race whoever is out on the water (whether they like it or not).

Without the conflict I think we could have gotten the 2 FTs, the JS, Outsider and possibly the J90 with the new rig (they had been out of commission for a while). I would be happy with just those 5 boats on the line. But there are more and it could (should) be better.
