    With former StFYC PRO John Craig manning the helm this past weekend, The StFYC compressed 2 regattas in to one. 19 J-105s, 6 Melges 24's, 15 Express 27's, 6 Open 5.70's ans 10 Knarrs filled the bill for some early season fun on The City Front







    A slight delay from the appointed 11:00AM scheduled 1st gun, the 1st race was run in light sub 10 knot breeze before ramping up significantly just after 1:00PM coinciding with the beginning of the building ebb gave crews a bit of spring punch in their sails.

    The usuals battle for J-105 supremacy, this weekend battle Scooter Simmons Blackhawk and Jeff Littfin's Mojo left the pair tied at 7 points apiece at Saturdays end. Phillip Laby's Godot, Doug Baileys Akula and Adam Spiegel's Jam Session managed to break up the tie on Sunday, resulting in Scooter's Blackhawk claiming supreme leader for this edition of the never ending quest for top dog status. They'll be back at it again, soon, when the StFYC host's the J-Fest!









    In the Melges 24 fleet, Doug Wilhelm's Wilco had 3 bullets, a duece and a trey for a total of 8 points with Jan Crosbie-Taylor and Sallie Lang's Posse tying at 14 points with Duane Y's Nothing Ventured, tie breaker going to Posse






    15 boats in the Express sailed the regatta as the 1st part of their 10 Regatta championship series. Brendan Bush's Get Happy got happy , going 2, 1,1 on Saturday's buoy racing and added another bullet in Sundays foggy ass Bonita Race.








    The 5.70's got together again, this time for the 1st counter in their championship Series, which will have it's Nationals in Santa Cruz in September. David Peckham's Revenge From Mars finished with a full house (3 aces and a pair of 2's) for a total of 7. with Big Air and Boaty tied at 17 with throwout edge going to Andrew Rist's Big Air The 5.70 class has gone through a bit of transition in recent months with
    the Open 5.70 ond Pogo 2 construction in Southern California closing it's doors, and as a result, the support for events was lost. "The positive news is there are now 20 or so boats in the Bay Area", says Fleet Captain Marc Finot " There were no 2nd hand boats available in California in the past few years, but now there are several" Click for List Marc indicates there are 7 boats in Richmond and 6-7 in Redwood City, " We are still getting reorganized and revamping the schedule, and hope to see 15-16 boats on the Bay for regattas soon, The Bay is just perfect for the 5.70, which likes a fiestier breeze" you can contact Mark be email Here

    The Perkins opened the 2014 Knarr Season with the domination on has come to expect
    taking 4 bullets and a dos, to total 6 points. The Knarr schedule is 45 races with 30 "counters" the season running into October
