    Who is going to doing the Windjamer race this Friday? I'll be on my moms BF's (that's ripe for some ribbing) E37 along with my brother and some great friends I used to sail with back when IOR was the hot ticket.

                  Well at least we finished......first out of a 3 boat div with 2 dnf's is nothing to brag about! It was fun to sail with my brother and some old friends.

                    All I have is these...slow condidtions in flat light...Pilot was in rush to get to areoport so had to cut it
                    short...

                        Many more boats would have made it in much earlier if they started the race @ 9:00am as it's has been as far back as I could find. Instead they had an 11am+ sequence, plus a delay making the big boats get underway @ 11:20….. we started @ 11:26.

                        WTF was the planning behind a super late start into a massive flood about?!? By the time the fleet was at the Gate the flood was @ 3k+. Also having to round Mile Rock to port doesn't help getting clear of lands end.

                          While I might concur about the starting times, whats the big deal about holding Mile Rock to port? Everyone has to sail the same course, not THE MOST CONVENIENT course.

                            For one it takes away a significant tactical play particularly on a strong flood. Second it stinks of distrust of the competitors in their ability to navigate inside Mile Rock. Both pretty bad reasons to make it a mark of the course.

                              I suspect that to get EXACTLY the race you want, you're going to have to serve on the RC where your reward won't be in racing, but in taking credit or arrows.
