  • Fun At The Fugundes

And with the turning of the page on the calendar, we quickly skip from October last stand including Halloweenie and yet another SFF Giants Victory page and onto November and the 1st Mid Winters of the season, the GGYC Manuel Fagundes Seaweed Soup!

The storm that dumped copius amounts of water on some parts of the San Francisco Bay departed to the east and left in its wake, pleasant sailing conditions. Not too cold. Not too windy. Not too cloudy. Not to much current. Just right!

The RC at GGYC gave the low raters a big (8.9 nm) course 17 that included a lengthy triangle up to Blackaller, over to Harding, down to Blossom, back to Blackaller, down to Ft Mason.

For the higher raters, a 6.4 nm course 8 which went west to Blackaller, down to Ft Mason, back to Blackaller, back to Ft Mason then finish. Timin was just about perfect with most boats finishing within a short time of each other and able to tie up the the GGYC docks and enjoy another fine feast and libations before heading back to the barn!

There was a nice breeze yesterday with an ebb tide. There are a lot of boats racing.

The first start had tall and fast boats:

A multihull on the course, maybe a video trailing later,

    Upwind to the finish,

The Catalina 34 Fleet raced with five (5) boats on the course. "Mottley" took the Class 1st. "All Hail", sail 524, below is going upwind to the finish line.
