  • A 4 Course Afternoon

With a multitude of regattas occurring this weekend, choices had to be made...

Witnessed the tail end of YRA Spring Series sail past
Alcatraz, the fleet way too dispersed to chase...

Thought catching the WBRA races off Knox, but apparently, their fleet had been somewhat cannibalized with Knaars heading over to Elite Keel,
and only one Bear Boat representing, most likely others were hibernation and getting rested for the Master Mariners next weekend. The Birds flew the coop before I could
catch them, but the Folkboats had wrapped up and headed in direct path
    for some photo ops.

The StFYC was hosting the annual Phyllis Kienman Swiftsure Regatta, which looked remarkably
like J-Fest Light, with J-105's, J-120 and J-111's in attendance. The 8 boat J-111 division seems to have grown a bit in recent weeks and now had 8 boats and for a change, new leaders
at the top. Two new entries, including Peter Wagners Skeleton Key was perfect with 5 aces to dominate the division, 9 points ahead of the 2nd place boat, Bennet Greenwald's Perserverance!

Peter Littfin's Mojo had 3 bullets in 5 races to stay clear ahead of the next boat, Bruce Stone's Arbitrage

In the J-120's, David Halliwill and crew aboard Peregrine had 3 aces to Stephen Madeira's Mr Magoo 2, plus some other crooked numbers to win 8-12!

The Mod 70 Orion dominated the 2 boat multihull division with lots of guns!

The J-24's were out in forces at the SFYC's Elite Keel Regatta with 12 boats warming up at their Western Regionals, ahead of their 2015 Nationals to be hosted by the Berkeley Yacht Club May 20th - 24th!

The SFYC had two simultaneous course running over on the Berkeley Circle, working the shifty 12-20 knot breeze which had a lot of SSW in it, making course setting a bit of a challenge.
They did wisely separate the asymmetrical from the symmetrical boats, which kept things on the the up and up and made hairball crossings a tad less eventful.

    Winners in each division:

    Melges 24: Looper Duane Yoslov

Melges 20: Samba Pa Ti John Kilroy

    Etchells: Lifted Jim Cunningham

    J-70: Prime Number Peter Cameron

Express 27: Motorcycle Irene Will Paxton

IOD: Bolero Richard & Mark Pearce

Knaars: Tree Boys & a Girl Chris Perkins

Open 5.70: Boaty Ben & CJ Andersen

J-24 3 Big Dogs Pat Toole
