I planned to register one race at a time because I was not sure whether my crew and I would be having fun outside the gate. We are - so we'll do some more races this year. I tried signing up for the whole season, but the way JibeSet works is that it does not apply the paid fees (for the last two races) to the $200 season fee, and so my total is $310 for the year if I do that. Was that the intended fee schedule mechanism or a bug in the billing system?

It's $200 for the season and $55 per race (assuming YRA and USS memberships) so the season is cheaper after the third race. I suspect that is why we have so many season racers who only do some of the races and lots of no-shows, especially later in the season. It's also easier to just sign up once.

I know we have allowed racers to convert a SRE (single race entry) sign up to a season sign up after the first race or two but it is always a manual process. Not enough instances of this to write software to cover it.

Send an email to Laura at the YRA office (info@yra.org) and describe what you want to do. She is the Jibeset guru and can make it happen.

Don't miss Drakes Bay. Yes, you'll have to sleep on the boat with your whole crew, but it is one of my favorite offshore races of the year.

The race around the stinky rocks was a great one! We kept a wary eye out for big wind and/or swell but none of it materialized for the Adrenalin Junkies. We even used the Middle Farallon as a sneaker wave indicator.

We saw whales (who, thankfully, did not do a "Horizon job" on us), silly sunfish, sea lions, sea birds, and sunshine. It was definitely feeding time out there.

The biggest swell we saw was around 8 feet and the wind hit around 15 knots.

Aside from Orion (who was probably doing multiple laps of the course!), we were the first boat to the Rocks. But, Bodacious+ snuck in and beat us around.

We had a tremendous race until we got stuffed by Pipkin and Paxton in the Channel. DOH!

Smiles were had by all. I sure love our cruising boat.

I was one of the freshwater guests on Junkyard Dog. Great time and I'll do it again if the Psycho guy has room for me.

Come back anytime! Half Moon Bay is this weekend, maybe Southwest has some cheap last minute flights?
