      Well...

The forecasts are not improving but instead becoming lighter. Predict Wind is now showing northerly less than 5 until at least 1400 and not getting much better after that.

Folkboat International Regatta hosted by Corinthian abandoned the last day of their regatta for total lack of wind, and that was at Knox!

Oh well, we have sandwiches and beer to consume. We will do what we need to do to get to the start line ready to race and hope we get a start. If we get a start we hope to make it to Benicia in time for the 1900 deadline. If we don't finish and end up back in Berkeley after eating our goodies and drinking the beer the day will still not be wasted!

Not looking too windy today... =(

Bummer, as I had received a generous offer for a whaler loaner to get out and shoot
while the Red Snapper gets her tubes reattached....

Elvis was aboard Mary McGrath's and Rich Pipkin's Can't Touch This for the Windjammers...

They made it as far as Pacifica before it became very apparent that the wind fairy was taking the weekend off....

Emergency room was jamming yesterday with heat related stuff... at least they had A/C

Like most of the fleet we never even got to Red Rock.

Siento el Viento made it to Richmond Bridge just after 3pm - no chance of finishing before to time limit so we headed across the bay to home (Paradise Cay). Shame - I like this race!

I am not that much of a tyrant. We always enjoy a beer or two between the finish line and the dock. Occasionally we do have a beer on a slow race, but I put a lot of effort in to getting the boat and crew out to the race course so my priority is the race. I think the beer tastes better if you wait until you are no longer racing. Maybe I am just not as good as some at multi-tasking.

Did anyone finish, or even get near it? Tough weather.

No finishers, and lead boats pulled the plug when they knew finishing on time was futile.

Still some boats motored up and partied anyways, after all, someone had to do it!

Thanks. You buy your ticket and take your chances, though normally that only applies to midwinters.
