I'd comment but I feel like I'm slipping into Old Man Mode these days, so I think I'll just say..

WOW, look at those fast boats GO!
I bet that will get lots of people out sailing. Sweet!!!

At least the YRA had some advanced notice this time!

Not sure why SailGP had to have that date even after they were encouraged to work around YRA. YRA took a hit of about 20% of entries in 2019 when compared to 2018, presumably the conflict had a lot to do with it.

The fact that on May 2, 2020 there will be a 3.2 ebb at 12:20 made giving up the date easier.

Cool that they were okay with moving it, but why in the hell didn't SailGP pick a different date?

  • Avoiding Conflict: YRA Great Vallejo Race Moves Up A Week

Earlier this week, Sail GP Announce that they will return to SF, on May 2nd-3rd, the longtime date of the YRA
Season Opener, The Great Vallejo Race yet again. This year, however, with plenty of advanced warning, the good folks at YRA have opted to
move their event up one week to April 25th and 26th.

We will have more on the SailGP event as time approaches, but mark your calendars for both events, and
know that your springtime just got a little busier!
