Adventure long distance rower Lia Ditton departed San Francisco Bay a week ago in her attempt to set a new record
for the 2,200+ mile crossing to Honolulu. Her voyage has already been fraught with danger, the latest being
a large shark that seems attracted to her boat, her or maybe just wants some snacks...

Below are some excerpt from her voyage thus far!

Day 49 The Trades and Waves Now In Lia's favor!



Lia has found the trade winds and following seas and is now moving in a positive direction,
even when not rowing. She now has time to make some repairs, get rest and write more prolifically.

A Rainbow In The Picture



Since we last visited Lia, she has progressed slowly but surely towards the Islands, experiences another roll over,
was visited by more sharks and a large pelagic bird and mahi-mahi. She describes her cabin as smelling like "wet cheese"
yet there is a rainbow i all of this! 865 nm to Hawaii to go after 61 days and 1, 245 miles...

Lia Closes In On A New Transpacific Womens Row Record



Lia Ditton has been making tracks across the Pacific in the past few weeks, and is now just over 100 nm
to Honolulu and currently making 2.3 knots. Now in her 84th day, she appears well ahead of the current 99 day record
for solo woman's row from SF to Hawaii, in 2008. Here are some of the latest entries in her diary...
