  • 2020 YRA/EYC Bonita Race Finally A Go!

A quick upload of images from Saturdays YRA/EYC Bonita Race, formerly known as the 2nd Half Opener,
which was postponed twice, once due to the ongoing pandemic then after a thick, nasty layer of smoke
inhabited the Bay Area. This edition finally was run in double handed form with a couple single handers tossed in the mix.
Decent breeze and a good ebb took the boats up to and out of the gate in a a rapid fashion with a southerly component due to an incoming
front, which stayed, for the most part over the Marin county area throughout the race.

    RESULTS
additional imagery and verbiage to follow...

A few more selects from Saturday. A fuller selects gallery can be seen at HERE!
Still much more editing to do in that regard...

Skeleton Key (Peter Wagner / Nick Gibbens) The J-111 is very familiar with top podium spots, but the DH
thing is a newish gig for Peter and Nick...

Raven (John Kernot / David Hodges} & Pegasus ( Stephen Lewis / Patrick Lewis)
Dueling past Bonita, a match race to the bitter end with Raven beating Pegasus by a mere 3 seconds corrected

Punk Dolphin (Jonathan Livingston / Helen Babalis) Because, who doesn't like Punks or Dolphins?

MC Irene (Will Paxton / Julia Paxton) They sailed away from the the e-27 fleet to claim yet another
      top podium spot!

Smokin (Michael Andrews / Tom Rankin) Win the DH Sporty Spin 1 group by a healthy margin!

Pork Chop Express (Chris Jordan / Charlotte Jordan) Have no problem in the DH non kite 2 or meeting
      the in house rule

Green Buffalo (James Quanci / Stephen Quanci) Were not only the greenest boat over 40'
but the winningest father and son duo in in DH Spin 4

Eight Ball (Scott Easom) Won the SH Kite division uncontested!

Bombora (Rebecca Hinden / John Hansen) take 2nd in the E-27 division and will make your
      boat go faster! www.pacificrigging.us

The finish! Jeststream (Daniel Alvarez / Robert Blackmore) Chase down the C&C 115 Raven
and take 2nd in DHSport Spin Type 1... Daniel has relocated to Iowa but heart and boat remain in SF,
and Rob flys in from Seattle to race!
