167 short handed boats signed up for the 19~20 nm, SSS' Tour d' Bay better known as Round The Rocks.
Split up into 14 divisions with the 1st start scheduled for 11:00 A.M. with the Multis getting the 1st starts.
With slack tide at the Gate scheduled for 12:12 PM and a stronger than expected westerly, the fleet made
great progress in the westerly migration in the early going, with the leading divisions getting favorable currents
as well, before the full moon ebb of 4.0 knots began to strengthen.
COURSE 1
From the Start,
• to Alcatraz Island (“The ROCK”), leaving it to starboard,
• then to Harding ROCK buoy (RG “HR” Fl (2+1) R6s), leaving it to starboard,
• then to The Brothers (ROCKS), leaving them to starboard,
• then to Red ROCK, leaving it to port,
• then to the Finish.
COURSE 2
From the Start,
• then to Blossom ROCK buoy (GR “BR” Fl(2+1) G 6s BELL), leaving it to starboard,
• then to “X” buoy (yellow sphere “X” ~0.2 nm off the Golden Gate YC), leaving to starboard,
• then to Little Harding ROCK buoy (G “1” Fl G 4s), leaving it to starboard,
• then to The Brothers (ROCKS), leaving them to starboard,
• then to Red ROCK, leaving it to port,
• then to the Finish.
CLASSES
There will be Singlehanded and Doublehanded divisions in this race. Classes are assigned to one of two courses:
Course 1 or Course 2 (see table below). All singlehanded boats will sail Course 1 while all doublehanded boats will sail Course 2. The exception is Multihulls, all of which will sail Course 1.
COURSE 1 19 nm
From the Start,

• then to The Brothers (ROCKS), leaving them to starboard,

Peter Stoneberg / David Blanchfield on the Shadow Extreme 40' devoured the course with an elapsed time of 02:51:33,
but yielded the overall correct multi division to Trevor Baylis / Mikey Radziejowski on the Open Multi 8.5 Mama Tried's elapsed time of 02:54:03
by a large margin, 03:35:05 for Mama Tried to Shadow's 04:22:59
On the Mono side, David Rasmussen on the Wyliecat 30' Salty Cat won not only the WC30 Division, but corrected out for overall mono
with a 03:52:17 time, edging out Greg Nelsen / Karl Crawford on Azzura 310 Outsider's corrected time of 03:53:56...
