  • Fleet Week, San Francisco

It looks like it's going to be a great weekend on the Bay! If you've not previously been on the water for the parade of ships and the air show, be aware that the Coast Guard is pretty rigid in enforcing the restricted areas. Here is a link to the keep-out zones: http://www.fleetweek.us/Fleet_Week_2...lic_Notice.pdf

Here's the Fleet Week website, which has a list of participating ships and planes: http://www.fleetweek.us/index.html

This year I'm going to be riding on the Jeremiah O'Brien instead of talking VALIS out.

*sigh* I love fleet week and all those clean cut, fresh scrubbed faces it brings to town....

Definitely some of the best shots I've seen - especially heading straight down towards the city front waters.

Fog down to the deck today. Bridge invisible.

            Airshow unlikely at this point.

But it cleared out just in time for a great show!

Yep! Looked a little sketchy early on. If the Parade was schedule for today, how would they have known where to fire missiles at pleasure boats getting too close to the warships?

Peter Lyons sends this. You'll note the awesome little powerboat in the bottom right hand corner.

At least they lost the faux rig and have moved forward.

Show was tremendous as always. We anchored right off chrissy field - next to Anita. Plenty of flyovers with burners going. The flyover of the 747 was just crazy.
